The String Orchestra of Brooklyn, an enterprising ensemble that consistently enriches the city’s artistic landscape, heralds the arrival of its long-overdue début studio recording. The shrewdly assembled album, “afterimage,” includes brief works by Paganini and Pergolesi that provide the germinal material for substantial new offerings by Christopher Cerrone (“High Windows,” featuring the Argus String Quartet) and Jacob Cooper (“Stabat Mater Dolorosa,” with the soprano Mellissa Hughes and the mezzo-soprano Kate Maroney). Those guest artists reassemble here for performances of the Cerrone and Cooper works.
